In 29 May 2009 the Våler church was destroyed and succumbed into the flames. This project wants to recover the inhabitants' hopeful spirit with a piece where the light is the principal design tool, offering them a new dawn.

In any season, natural light reaches every corner of the church

The stepped figure symbolizes the transition between human world (entrance) and heaven (altar)

The ceiling shape has been specially designed for the Nordic light

The stars in the wall correspond to the sky map of the spring equinox of 1838, when the first parish was established in Våler
